This is what I like to call a gourmet slow cooker meal. Gourmet and naturally gluten free, dairy free, soy free, nut free and egg free! I love my crock pot but if you use it you know that usually its best for soups, stews, and roasts, it’s ok to use with chicken…and no one in their right mind would recommend you use it for something like filet mignon or scallops (at least I wouldn’t).
This recipe is actually in my recipe cards as “husband’s favorite ribs”. It is delicious in the summer when you don’t want to heat up the kitchen, as well as in the winter, when you want something warm waiting for you after work. It really does seem like a dish you’d get at a nice restaurant out West. I serve it with seasonal veggies (see the bottom of my post for my suggestions). Crock Pot Red Wine Braised Beef Short Ribs
2 lbs beef short ribs
3/4 cup red wine
1 cup Organic Tomato Ketchup
2 tbsp soy sauce (or Coconut Aminos if you’re soy free like me!)
1\4 cup Organic Light Brown Sugar
2 onions, sliced thin
Place onion slices at the bottom of the crockpot, place ribs on top. Mix all other ingredients and pour over the top. Cook on low for 8 hours. Enjoy with seasonal vegetables like my recipes listed below …
