Crock Pot Spicy Three Meat Chili; Gluten Free, Soy Free, Dairy Free, Nut Free Recipe

February 26, 2014 by Kristina Leave a Comment

My house smells delicious!  The main reason it that there’s my husband’s favorite three meat chili cooking in the Crock Pot. It smells even better because my husband did all of the prepping and all I had to do this morning was pop it in the slow cooker and turn it on.  I did promise him that I would make him some of my gluten free,  dairy free,  soy free, nut free, corn bread – I’ll try and post that tomorrow.

As always, this recipe is gluten free,  dairy free, soy free, and nut free. It uses 3 different types of meat (enough meat to make my husband ok with the fact that there are beans) and beans (because I don’t think chili is chili without them).  It’s a bit spicy and there are plenty of ways to kick it up another notch or to tone it down.

Crock Pot Three Meat Chili Recipe

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 lb hot breakfast sausage

1 lb beef stew meat

1 cup chopped onion

3/4 cup chopped bell pepper

2 jalapenos, seeded and chopped*

1 can (15 oz) kidney beans

3 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp salt

3 cloves minced garlic

1 (6 oz) can green chilies

1 3/4 cup packaged chopped tomatoes or 1 (15 oz) can

3 3/4 cup packaged tomato sauce or 2 (15 oz) cans

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp oregano

1/4 tsp garlic powder

3/4 tbsp tobasco sauce

2 tbsp cumin

1/2 tsp onion powder

*For more spice feel free to add an additional jalapeno or keep the seeds.

Cook the ground beef and drain fat. Cook the sausage and drain fat. Brown the stew meat and drain fat. Add vegetables to the Crock Pot.  Top with cooked meat.  Add beans, tomatoes, sauce and spices.  Cook on low for 8 hours. Enjoy! I like to serve it with corn bread!

It’s cold and rainy in Michigan today and I’m wishing I had some homemade chicken broth ready for a soup like this one. This soup is naturally gluten free, dairy free, soy free, nut free, egg free and can be easily made vegan. It also could easily be made nightshade free with the elimination of…
