These pictures have been sitting here forever so it’s kind of random but I’m going to post this family favorite today. There’s one meal that tastes surprisingly good everytime I make it. For some reason, I was not a fan of pot roast growing up, I’m not sure what happened but now I love it. We used to jazz the roast up with some onion soup packets – not anymore! We gave up preservatives and all kinds of other stuff years ago! This is completely made from scratch. If you make your own worcestershire sauce you can make this refined sugar free. So here it is, my homemade version of Slow Cooker French Onion Pot Roast that is gluten free, dairy free, soy free, nut free and delicious!
Crock Pot French Onion Pot Roast
2.5 lb grass fed beef roast
2 yellow onions, sliced
8 carrots, peeled and cut into 3″ chunks
6 organic redskin potatoes
2 tbsp Dried Chopped White Onion, Organic or minced onions of choice
1 tbsp Frontier Onion Granulesor onion powder of choice
1 tsp garlic salt
2 tbsp Lea & Perrins Original Worcestershire Sauce (this is gf but always make sure it’s a brand you can have, or make your own)
2 tbsp Coconut Secret Raw Organic Coconut Aminos
3 cups Organic beef broth
Layer onions, potatoes and carrots at the bottom of the slow cooker. Top with beef roast. Mix spices together and sprinkle half over beef. Mix broth, worcestershire sauce, coconut aminos and the rest of the spice blend together and pour into the slow cooker. Cook on low for 8 hours.
Enjoy with a big bunch of steamed broccoli!
