Soy Free, Gluten Free Ginger Dipping Sauce, Benihana Copycat Recipe; Gluten Free, Soy Free, Dairy Free, Nut Free Recipe

January 2, 2015 by Kristina 2 Comments

Once you go soy free you pretty much have to get over the fact that you'll no longer be able to eat Asian foods, definitely Chinese take out. Oh how I miss Chinese take out!!! Japanese food is another thing we missed, sushi, sake and our hibachi favorites from Teppanyaki restaurants. Did I lose you? I'm sure you know sushi, and sake (it's rice wine but it may or may not be gluten free, dairy free, and soy free! - see my post here).  Hibachi is a form of cooking device popular in Japan, ...

Gingerbread Pancakes; Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free, Nut Free Recipe

December 23, 2014 by Kristina 1 Comment

I am OBSESSED with my gluten free, dairy free, soy free, nut free homemade pancake mix. I created it a few years ago when i decided that gluten free pancake mixes and gluten free bisquick are ridiculously expensive (why are they so expensive?) and I wouldn't spend money on them anymore. I have been using it multiple times per week since then. Seriously,  we go through a ton of it each month. Ive been really obsessed with creating new types of flavored pancakes too. Why? Because it's fun, it's ...

Healthier Green Bean Casserole; Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free, Nut Free, Egg Free Recipe

December 22, 2014 by Kristina 2 Comments

It's a few days before Christmas and I still haven't made any of the allergen free Christmas cookies that I make every year (a great basic recipe can be found here), I still haven't posted the Maple Sweetened Cranberry Sauce that I created for Thanksgiving, and I'm just now getting to posting this....luckily, like the original 1950s recipe, this gluten free, dairy free, soy free, nut free Green Bean Casserole recipe has only a few ingredients! Looks yummy huh? I'm constantly experimenting to ...

Crock Pot Red Wine Braised Beef Short Ribs; Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free, Nut Free Recipe

November 19, 2014 by Kristina 1 Comment

This is what I like to call a gourmet slow cooker meal. Gourmet and naturally gluten free, dairy free, soy free, nut free and egg free! I love my crock pot but if you use it you know that usually its best for soups, stews, and roasts, it's ok to use with chicken...and no one in their right mind would recommend you use it for something like filet mignon or scallops (at least I wouldn't). This recipe is actually in my recipe cards as "husband's favorite ribs". It is delicious in the summer when ...

Allergen Free Pumpkin Pie; Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free, Nut Free Recipe

November 14, 2014 by Kristina 2 Comments

I told you I was going to make pumpkin pie! Okay, I've been saying it since August - sorry! I figured it's now or wait another year so here's my second "Allergen Free Thanksgiving" post - my gluten free, soy free, dairy free, nut free pumpkin pie. This doesn't include the crust recipe. I'm sorry! I haven't found one that I love yet and keep resorting to store bought. If you have a great recipe feel free to post it below! I have a lot of pumpkin. This is a modification of the traditional ...

Cornbread Stuffing; Gluten free, Soy Free, Dairy Free, Nut Free, Egg Free Recipe

November 8, 2014 by Kristina 3 Comments

Omg thanksgiving is like three weeks away! Eek! I love halloween so much that my mind doesn't seem to venture past October 31st until it's gone. I also just saw someone post that Christmas is 7 weeks away...double eek! So much to do, so little time! So today I introduce my first allergy free Thanksgiving post. I'll try to get all of my recipes out here before the holiday. Whats the first thing that people miss at Thanksgiving when going gluten free? Stuffing (or dressing as some people call it). ...

Canning Apple Slices in Extra Light Syrup; Preserving the Harvest

November 6, 2014 by Kristina Leave a Comment

Every year we go to the apple orchard and pick WAY too many apples. I don't know why but I seem to only really love apples in the fall. Every other time of year they're just ok.  I've started wondering if that's because I can really only get the kind I love (Empire) from the orchards. Last year I decided that if I was going to preserve some of the apples to use in pies later in the year and see if it makes a difference.  Let me tell you, it totally does! I didn't have the time to can any apples ...

Halloween DIY: Taxidermy Rat Wall Hanging

October 30, 2014 by Kristina Leave a Comment

I started this post back in July...now here I am the day before Halloween posting a Halloween craft! Oh well, you'll be ready for it next year :). I made these last year, they're relatively quick (depending on how good of a painter you are) and they're really fun as haunted house, haunted mansion, or apothecary table decor! I've looked around and so far I'm the FIRST AND ONLY person who has made these - woo hoo for creativity! I'm sure that won't be the case after I publish and promote this ...

Apple Cider Glazed Pork Tenderloin with Roast Squash

October 28, 2014 by Kristina Leave a Comment

Two weeks ago I made this and told my dad about it.  Last week I decided I wanted to have him over for dinner and told him I was going to make a root vegetable pot roast. He said no....he wanted this :).  It's good enough to have once a week so that's fine with me! I love fall food! Apples, pork, squash, cider - this is the perfect autumn dinner. It will definitely be on the menu every year when the leaves start to change! It also happens to be naturally gluten free, soy free, dairy free, nut ...

Apple Fritter Pancakes with Cinnamon; Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free, Nut Free Recipe

October 19, 2014 by Kristina 3 Comments

The title makes these sound like they'd be really fattening and horrible for you doesn't it? Good news! All the flavor and texture of apple fritters but less sugar, less fat, no gluten, no dairy, no soy, no nuts :). These have only a tiny bit more sugar than my regular GF pancakes and they are great without the addition of maple syrup (so less sugar overall for us)! They are doughy on the inside, crispy around the edges, apple cinnamon-y goodness! They are the absolute perfect fall ...

It’s cold and rainy in Michigan today and I’m wishing I had some homemade chicken broth ready for a soup like this one. This soup is naturally gluten free, dairy free, soy free, nut free, egg free and can be easily made vegan. It also could easily be made nightshade free with the elimination of…
